College level English is a tall mountain to climb, so it's important to start with the right steps. At Class of Five, your child works towards internationally recognized Cambridge qualifications that align with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Starting with the Young Learners English (YLE) program, students build a strong foundation and progress through a clear path of language proficiency. These qualifications not only boost confidence but also provide tangible proof of your child’s English abilities—recognized by schools, universities, and employers worldwide.
We teach three levels at Class of Five - Starters, Movers and Flyers. By the end of Flyers, students will achieve 120-140 points along the Cambridge scale, equivalent to A2 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). This is two full levels closer to the goal of getting college level English, and puts students on the right track for successful progression further.
Many proficiency exams start at the A2 level or higher, which is why generally older students take them. The YLE program bridges this gap and gives younger students the opportunity to demonstrate what they've learned. By the completion of our course, students will have sufficient English to choose from any proficiency scale they wish to continue.
